Uttaranchal University Center for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship, (UUCIIE) organized a splendid one-day “Entrepreneurs Confluence” on 25th February, 2019, wherein both the learned and experienced entrepreneurs and successful alumni entrepreneurs of the University were invited to share their success stories. In order to nurture and support the startup dreams of the students of Uttaranchal University the center is working dedicatedly and this event added more value to it.The main purpose of this event was to inspire and motivate more and more students to come forward with their new business ideas and innovations. The event provided a great platform to the students of different colleges and courses for interacting with high profile and experienced entrepreneurs such as Mrs. Sujata Paul Maliah of Dehradun who is also known as a great Social Activist. She is also seen as a panelist in many TV news channels, talking on various social issues. Above all she is a true entrepreneur. Her company has been the sole distributor for Uttarakhand of Industrial Diamond Powder of a leading Swiss Company. Also she is working on Chunk Disposable Tableware made from bagasse or sugarcane waste which will result in reducing the harm caused by non-degradable plastic waste. Ms. Sujata Paul discussed about the importance of students discovering their purpose and tapping into their potential. She encouraged the students to uncover their natural skills. She asked the students to focus on four key areas which were innovative idea, having passion, hard work & patience.
Students interacted with another young entrepreneur Mr. Ashish Chand Panwar who is a Co-Founder of a Dance Academy which currently has three branches in Uttarakhand and one in Ghaziabad. Another Guest Entrepreneur Mr. Vivek Chauhan also shared his experiences with the students. The event started with the felicitation of guests followed by Lamp Lighting Ceremony. Dr. Vandana Joshi, Chairperson-UUCIIE, welcomed all the dignitaries. She explained the primary objective of Incubation Centre and explained how UUCIIE is helping the students in every possible manner. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi motivated the students for working diligently in their respective fields as great entrepreneurs. He appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to excel in their respective fields. Hon’ble Chancellor, Uttaranchal University Shri. Jitender Joshi motivated the crowd by narrating his own journey as an entrepreneur. He assured the students that University will provide every possible support to the teams for their proper functioning and setting up of new ventures.
To add more glory to this event the successful alumni entrepreneurs of the University were invited to grace the occasion with their presence. Students met and interacted with their seniors and alumni entrepreneurs face to face and learned key skills for starting up a new business. The University Alumni, namely, Mr. Prateek Aggarwal, Mr. Rahul Gupta, Mr. Prawal Pratap Singh, Ms. Meenakshi Joshi, Mr. Shubham Gupta, Mr.Akshay Badeja, Mr. Devansh Kuchhal, Mr. Pankaj Sharma, Mr. Anuj Rauthan and Mr. Ankush Jaiswal motivated the students to take risks and become successful entrepreneurs. All the Alumni expressed their happiness in meeting in person, their batch mates and faculty in this Entrepreneurs Confluence.
The event was followed by a Question-Answer Session in which students asked various questions from the entrepreneurs regarding the startups, advertisement, marketing and challenges faced by them in starting up a new business. The selected teams with startup projects were also invited to take advantage of this event and share their ideas with the rest of the students. Teams from various colleges told the other students about the facilities and support given to them by UUCIIE for completing and developing their small startups. Results of Ad Shoot Competition were also declared followed by Certificate Distribution. All the speakers were presented mementoes and Vote of Thanks was delivered by UUCIIE Coordinator Ms. Anu Suyal. “Entrepreneur Confluence 2019” was a great success and opened ways for budding entrepreneurs to transform their dreams into reality.
