Uttaranchal University aims to provide the students an access to the best quality learning resources leading to the development of learning skills and professional competency. Towards the realization of the same Open Elective Courses, MOOCs and SWAYAM form integral parts of the prescribed Course Curriculum followed in Uttaranchal University and are incorporated in respective Course Structures.
Open Elective Courses
The option of Open Elective Courses provided by Uttaranchal University allows a student to opt for a subject of his own choice as an Elective subject with the objective to acquire knowledge in the areas that are interesting and important for them.
The curriculum includes a list of optional courses recommended for the students in a particular programme. Students choose subjects from the approved curriculum of the educational programme and form their individual curricula, which include:
- All subjects from the programme curriculum’s core
- Subjects from the variable part of the programme curriculum, according to the list and to the rule of choice
MOOCs
MOOCs are a recent and widely researched development in distance education. Keeping pace with the latest advancement Uttaranchal University has incorporated MOOCs in the Course Curriculum. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are online courses aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web.
MOOCs provide the students an affordable and flexible way to learn new skills, advance career and acquire quality educational experiences at scale.
SWAYAM
SWAYAM is a programme initiated by Government of India with the aim to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy viz., access, equity and quality. Identifying with the intent Uttaranchal University has incorporated courses through the platform SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds).
SWAYAM provides the students an access to the best quality learning resources.
