One of the largest democracies in the world, India celebrated its 75th Independence Day on 15th of August, 2021. This day marks the historic occasion when the country finally broke the shackles of oppression and gained independence from the British Empire in the year 1947.
The 75th Independence Day was celebrated in all its solemnity in Uttaranchal University on 15th August, 2021 strictly following the issued instructions and guidelines. Hon’ble Director – Development and Planning, Uttaranchal University Shri. Jagdish Joshi expressed gratitude to the National Heroes for their supreme sacrifice and offered flowers on the pedestal of the reverend “Wall of Heroes”. He presided over the function after inspecting the ‘Guard of Honor’ presented by the Security Guards of the University. To honor the sovereignty of our nation he unfurled the tricolor flag and all present sang the National Anthem in unison and acknowledged the hard-earned bliss of freedom.
Hon’ble Director – Development and Planning, Uttaranchal University Shri. Jagdish Joshi addressed the limited gathering and expressed his gratitude to the reverend freedom fighters and extended his warm wishes to one and all on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. He stated that due to the pandemic many restrictions have to be strictly followed while celebrating Independence Day this year. He further added that though the celebrations are being strongly missed – the spirit of freedom and respect for the nation remains the same. He motivated one and all to aspire and strive for the best both for themselves and the nation.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Nakoti, Estate Officer and distribution of sweets to one and all.
