Uttaranchal Institute of Management organized a Workshop on ‘Legal Proceedings for the Registration of a Company’ on November 8, 2019 in the Seminar Hall of UIM. Mr. Brijesh Kumar Kain (Registrar of Companies-cum-Official Liquidator of Uttarakhand, Dehradun) was the Keynote Speaker. He was accompanied by CSAkannsha Jaggi (a Trainee) and Mr. Khajan Singh (Technical Expert).
Dr. Abhishek Joshi (Director – Student Affairs and IT Services), Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Director, UIM) and Dr. Anshul Joshi (HOD, Management) were among the dignitaries present on the occasion. Ms. Anu Sayal was the Event Co-ordinator. She welcomed the dignitaries and briefed the audience about the event and its significance. At the outset, Dr. Abhishek Joshi and Dr. Pradeep Suri felicitated the Keynote Speaker. Thereafter, Dr. Pradeep Suri addressed the audience. He talked about the dismal scene of unemployment in the country especially in the wake of curtailment of jobs by the companies due to ongoing recessionary phase. He also quoted the report of ASSOCHAM stating that the companies are not getting worthy candidates. He implored the students to go for start-ups. In USA, roughly 70 % of the jobs come from start-ups. Indians need to follow suit. He described about a woman who started a nail paint business some years ago and is now earning in millions. He motivated the students by stating, ‘You all have the potential and capability to do wonders. Through the Workshop you have been provided with a great opportunity to learn from the Guest Speakers. Make the best of it.’
Mr. Brijesh Kumar Kain explained to the audience the online and offline procedure for registration of a company and the documents required for the purpose. He also emphasized that filing fee, stamp duty and other legal charges have been exempted for the start-ups in Uttarakhand to award a boost to the industry in the state. He along with CS Akansha Jaggi responded to the queries of the students. It was a very informative and educative session.
The program culminated with ‘Votes Of Thanks’ delivered by Mr. Shivendra Singh Choudhary. The significant contribution made by Dr. Sunil Shukla, Ms. Anu Sayal, Mr. Shivendra Choudary, Ms.Vijay Lakshami and Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat towards the success of the function deserves a special mention.
