Zee University, Selaqui, organized ‘Agro-Exhibition cum Farmers Fair’ on 8th November, 2019. The representatives and students from various colleges participated in the event. The Team of Pravesh Kumar and Milan Dimri of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, Semester III, was recognized as Second Awardees of the event. They presented their project on the working of aquaponics which is the combination of conventional aquaculture and hydroponics in a symbiotic environment. Their project stated that fish excreta (Ammonia) is a toxic substance and they converted it into nitrate with the help of biological filter by nitrifying bacteria. Nitrate is a non toxic and is further absorbed by plants as a source of nitrogen. Jury members liked the project for its unique objective which was towards the betterment of nature and aquatic life. Principal-SOA appreciated the initiative and effort of the students and wished them for bright future ahead.
