Uttaranchal University organized a Seminar on ‘Design Requirements using Finite Element Analysis Software’ by Cadera InfoTech Pvt. Ltd. on 21st October, 2019. Second & Third Year Students of B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering attended the Seminar. The Seminar started with the introductory speech delivered by Senior Manager CRC-UU Mr. Iqbal Singh Sahwney followed by a speech of Mr. Paramjeet Singh Saini, Manager-CRC. They discussed the importance of the design concept and application of Finite Element Method in the industry.
Cadera Info Tech Pvt. Ltd. is a Business Service Company which offers design solutions to various reputed company like Siemens, BHEL and the like. The Key Resource Person was Mr. Hari Kumar Yajamanyam, Technical Expert, Siemens (India) Limited. He started his speech with the basic concepts of Mechanical Engineering Subjects like Strength of Material, Machine Design, Welding Technology & FEM software for the design of various Mechanical components which are used in Hydroelectric Power Plants such as turbines, generators and shafts & emphasized on the importance of the above subjects in the design industry & with respect to market requirements. His emphasis was on the gap of required skill sets of students, i.e., between industry and academia impacting the future growth of both.
The Seminar was very informative for the students and they got to know the importance and application of mechanical engineering theoretical subjects with regards to the industry. The Company also offered to enroll for the design course and conducted a placement activity in the campus. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi (Head of Mechanical Engineering Department) Mr. Piyush Agrawal and Mr. Ravi Batra along with all the faculty members of Mechanical Engineering Department attended the seminar.
