“Creativity carves out the best in every child”. With the intent to promote creativity among the students, School of Liberal Arts organized “Yuvaan 2019” – its maiden Cultural Fest on 13th & 14th November, 2019.
The Intra-College Cultural Festival was organized to give an insight into the existing cultures in India. The events of the 2 day-long programme included Collage Making, Debate, Dance Performances, Singing, Poster Making and Rangoli Making.
The first Fest organized by School of Liberal Arts initiated with the blessings of Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi and Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi. The event was inaugurated on 13th November, 2019 with three events on schedule for the day, namely, Rangoli Making, Debate and Poster Making Competition. The theme of Poster Making and Rangoli Making were quite similar, being “The Cultures and Traditions of India”. The topic of the debate was “Is it high time to amend caste-based reservation in India?”
Rangoli is considered to be a welcoming ritual in our Indian traditions and customs prior to any special celebration. The rangoli designs made by the participants were very precise, welcoming, and full of colors, depicting the theme, synonymous to Indian cultures, i.e., unity in diversity.
The debaters also won the hearts of the audience by their excellent oratory skills. Their presentation of the facts and figures was excellently fabricated and compiled. The notions portrayed by the debaters, either for or against, were framed according to their precise research work which was well highlighted through their speaking skills.
Besides these two events the students of School of Liberal Arts carved out the artist hidden within them by means of their posters on “The Cultures of India”. The splash of colors on the sheets gave an insight into the varied customs and cultures prevalent in every part of our country.
The next day of the event, i.e., 14th November proved to be an enthusiastic experience for the students of Liberal Arts. The Second Day of the Cultural Fest was held at the Seminar Hall of the University Polytechnic. Everyone sat glued to the show on the second day of the event which presented the dance and the singing performances in a very contemporary and delicate way. The dances and the songs portrayed multi-cultural India. Dance forms of various states were presented through the common platform.
The last event in the schedule was a surprise ‘Mehfil-e-Shayari’ which was relished by one and all.
The event concluded with the declaration of the results. The winners of the three events, namely, Poster Making, Debate and Collage Making were announced before the audience.
The First Position in Poster Making was achieved by Samridhdi Kandpal while the Second Position was shared by Muskan, Aashi, Yamini and Ayesha. In the Debate Samridhdi Kandpal was adjudged the Best Debater and Kumar Gaurav and Aarushi were declared the Best Speakers. In Collage Making Competition the First Position was accorded to Samridhdi & Pradeep, the Second Position was conferred to Yamini & Gaurav and the Third Position was bestowed on Pawan.
