Department of Food Technology celebrates “Children’s Day”

Department of Food Technology, School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), celebrated “Children’s Day” on 14 November, 2019, as a tribute to India’s First Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The celebration aimed to create awareness about of the rights, care and education of children.

The event was blessed by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi and Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi. Motivation of the event was provided by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal, SALS. The entire event was conceptualized by Dr. Shuchi Upadhyay Tiwari, Head- Department of Food Technology and coordinated by Student Coordinators of Food Tech Club.

The event was marked by Dancing, Singing, Poetry and speeches delivered by students and Faculty Members of the department.

Students of B.Sc. (Hons.) V Semester and M.Sc. I Semester, under the supervision of Dr. Shuchi and Dr. Bindu, prepared delicacies which were relished by one and all. Vegetable Soup was prepared by Kashish Agarwal, Shashi Bhandari and Devansh, Multigrain Halva was prepared by Mahima, Mamta, Himani and Megha Bhandari and Melon Seeds mixed Sesame Chikki was prepared by Shivangi Khatri and Pooja Chand.

The program was anchored by Nishchay Thakur and Shanshank. The dances were performed by Megha Bhandari. Arnica Baliyan and Surabhi Gusain whereas Shantanu Rana, Akansha Bora, Sandhya and Victor Rojee sang songs for the audience. The refreshment distribution was coordinated by Achal Shrivatav and Jyoti Joshi under the guidance of Mr. Prateek Gururani, Ms. Nitika Rathi and Dr Rajeev Kumar. Around 155 students participated in the program.
