‘Deeksharambh’ is an annual orientation event organized by the School of Applied & Life Sciences for new students in the college. Various activities are organized in this program to make the students aware of college rules and policies.
The 14 Day program started on 16th September,2021 to welcome the students for the session 2021-2022. Dean School of Applied and Life Sciences Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh briefed the students about the Vision & Mission of SALS, the Examination System and the Student Grievance Redressal Cell of the university. Class coordinators informed the students regarding different courses they would be studying. Various activities were organized in these 14 days of Deekharambh including a guided tour of the university campus. Students were made familiar with the services the university offers to them.
Sports committee of SALS organized some games and fun activities so as to make the new entrants comfortable in the new environment. Talent Hunt was also organized by the Cultural Committee of SALS. During the program, a day was scheduled for an educational tour to Survey of India coordinated by Prof (Dr)Bharti Ramola.
A formal event was also organized in Vivekananda Auditorium of Uttaranchal University for the students of UIT, SALS, SOA & SLA. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Chancellor- Shri Jitender Joshi, Vice-Chancellor- Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna and Director Student Affairs and IT Services- Prof (Dr) Abhishek Joshi. The programme was inaugurated with lighting of the auspicious lamp by all the dignitaries. The programme aimed to familiarise the new students with the University functionaries.
Deans of all the four colleges namely Prof (Dr) S D Pandey, Dean UIT and Chairperson Anti- Ragging Committee, Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Dean SALS & DSW) Prof (Dr) M P Singh, Dean- SOA and Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, Dean – SLA and Mr Iqbal Singh Sahani, Head – CRC addressed the students. Shri Jitender Joshi, hon’ble Chancellorji blessed the students with his words of wisdom.
