Media Club, under the aegis of Department of Communication, SLA, organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “Radio as a Medium of Mass Communication” on 12th October, 2019. Mr. Chakradhar Kandwal was the eminent speaker of the event. Mr. Kandwal has a massive work exposure in the field of radio and has also given his services in Indian Information Services. Currently he is working as Visiting Faculty in various colleges of media and mass communication. Moreover, he has written four text books on radio, broadcasting and media industry.
The lecture started at 11:00 a.m. Ms. Smriti Uniyal, Coordinator – DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION, SLA, welcomed the guest with a bouquet. Mr. Chakradhar mesmerized all the students with his extraordinary teaching skills. The lecture was more like an interactive session wherein the students asked about how to make their career in the field of Radio Broadcasting. He told the students about the means & methods of attaining good knowledge of the world and current affairs. He also shared some of his past experiences. He further guided on the ways of facing the challenges of media field. He stated that a fresher in the field of media should start their media career with print media so that they can understand the news and writing style. He gave examples of best radio commentators and their radio journeys. He gave some tips and ideas to students on attaining sustainability in the field of mass media.
The session ended up with some thoughts and lessons related to spirituality, world, life and career. In his concluding discourse he highlighted the basic ideals of life.
