Law College Dehradun organized “Freshers’ Party 2019” on 21st September, 2019 with zest and solemn pomp to welcome the new comers of the college. Music, fun, laughter and well dressed lads and ladies in Retro Style marked the ambience of day. The occasion was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Vice Chairperson Smt. Anuradha Joshi who presided as the Chief Guest of the occasion along with Hon’ble Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of the University.
The celebrations were started at 11:30 a.m. by the anchors, namely, Nikhil Choudhary and Riya. This was followed by the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony and felicitation of the guests. The event began with a Welcome Dance Performance by Prithiviraj and group. Foot – tapping music and enthusiasm set the mood for the ‘Ramp Walk’ were the participants vied for Mr. & Ms. Fresher 2019 Title. All the contestants seemed to be conscious of the latest fashion trends and dressed their best. The judgment was based on the performance and intellect of the competitors.
The mercury level of the day began to rise as one and all witnessed power packed performances. The Duet Dance by the twin sisters was enthralling, while the Garhwali Dance Performance by Negi and group was amazing. Akshat Goyal and Prachi engrossed the audience with their mellifluous performance. A rocking performance by Azmeen, Avantika, Sneha and Aayushi on a Bollywood song augmented the excitement while ‘Bhangra Dance’, the signature performance of Law College Dehradun, portrayed unbridled energy. A Retro performance by Himani and Nikhil reminded us on the golden days of stalwarts like Govida, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri and the like.
Hon’ble Vice Chairperson Smt. Anuradha Joshi, speaking on the occasion, complimented the students for their wonderful performance and encouraged the students to make the best use of the opportunities provided to them and compete with the challenging world. Principal & Dean Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, in his speech, insisted the students to inculcate social values and promise themselves to bring laurels to the profession.
Thereafter the title-bearers of the day were announced wherein Annanya Gusain was declared ‘Ms. Fresher – 2019’ and Akshat Goyal was declared ‘Mr. Fresher – 2019’.
Eventually the stage was opened for DJ performance of the students followed by a sumptuous lunch. The event manifested youth and enthusiasm at its best. The entire event was well convened by the Chairperson of the Cultural Committee of the college Ms. Kanchan Anand and her team members along with the anchors Nikhil, Vanshaj and Manvi leaving behind well cherished memories.
