Law College Dehradun organized an Intra-Collegiate Debate Competition under the aegis of Aarambh – The Debating Society in association with RTI Club, Dehradun on 25th September, 2018. Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Jitender Joshi was the Chief Guest of the occasion and other dignitaries present included members from RTI club of Dehradun.
The topic of the bilingual debate was “Is RTI a Tool to Combat Corruption?” This was the 3rd Edition of this debate organized in continuance at Law College Dehradun where a total of 8 contestants participated in which 4 were in favor and 4 were against the motion. The esteemed jury comprised of Mr. Kumar Ashutosh, Mr. Anjum Parvez and Mr. Razit Sharma. Based on their judicious observance and analysis the winners of the event were Shubham Bahuguna of LL.B. (Hons.) 2nd Year, Anushka Joshi of B.A.LL.B (Hons.) 2nd Year and Urmila of B.A.LL.B (Hons.) 1st Year. These winners will represent Law College Dehradun, Uttaranchal University in the final round of the prestigious RTI Debate to be conducted by RTI Club, Uttarakhand.
Present on the occasion were Principal & Dean Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Dr. Poonam Rawat, HOD- Law, Ms. V. Bhuvaneswari, Chairperson – LCD Debsoc, Faculty Members & students of LCD.
