The Globe Club (Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment Club) of Uttaranchal Institute of Management under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director UIM, organized a visit to nearby slum area to educate the dwellers about basic sanitation and hygiene practices.
The activity was graced by the presence of HOD-IT Dr. Sonal Sharma and supervised by Dr. Mamta Bansal (Head – Globe Club) along with the members of Globe Club.
Students and faculty members of Globe Club visited the slum area near Nanda ki Chowki, Prem Nagar, adjoining Uttaranchal University on 24th September, 2018 at 11:30 am.
A group of 50 students of UIM participated in educatingthe underprivileged and poor people including children and ladies about personal health and sanitation. Students taught them about basic hygiene practices such as brushing teeth and washing hands before and after meals.
Such activities help ignite the feelings of compassion towards the welfare and development of the society.
