Law College Dehradun, faculty of Uttaranchal University, commenced its much awaited ‘Vagyuddha’ – National Parliamentary Debate 2018 with pomp and splendor on 13th April, 2018 under the aegis of ‘Aarambh’ – the Debating Society of Law College Dehradun. The Inaugural Ceremony took place in the Seminar Hall of the college with the felicitation of Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi and Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N. K. Joshi. Mr. Anjan Sahu, the President of ‘Aarambh’, extended his warm welcome and best wishes to all the teams from all over the country, independent adjudicators and in-house adjudicators. Principal and Dean Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna bestowed his blessings and good graces upon ‘Aarambh’ for its “Vagyuddha” and its participants including the adjudicators. The impressive panel of core adjudicators of Vagyuddha, Dibyojyoti Mainak, Siddhartha Thyagarajan & Anupam Dhar presented their various experiences and the format of the Asian Parliamentary Debate to be followed in Vagyuddha. A mock debate was held by the members of Aarambh on the motion “This House supports the Statehood of ‘Vidarbha’ ” on the basis of which the adjudicator test was held. The preliminary rounds for the teams commenced post lunch after the core adjudicators adjudged the adjudicators.
