2nd October is the birthday of two great leaders of India, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Gandhiji gave two principles ‘SATYA’ and ‘AHIMSA’ of life and Shastri Ji gave the slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’. The event started at 3:40pm with the speech by Dr. Jaidev Principal, SOA. Dr. Jaidev addressed the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture from all the semesters and highlighted on the contribution of Gandhi Ji and Shastri Ji in Indian freedom struggle. Dr. Rajendra Prasad kept his words to acknowledge the significance of the day. He persuaded the students to lead a very simple life. Students from all the semesters kept their views through poetry recitation, speech presentation, pictorial presentation etc. and paid tribute to these eminent personalities of the nation. There was a video played to aspire students and to fill their hearts with the colours of patriotism. At the end Dr. Jitendra Singh kept his words on the day, which was followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
