Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun organized a Debate Competition on the occasion of Zero Emission Day on 21 September 2021 The topic “Pharma Industries: Positive and Negative Outcomes”. Certainly the celebration of this day marked the students towards the emission hazardous over the ecosystem.
The event was organized by Pharmaceutical Chemistry Club of UIPS which was coordinated by Ms.Vanshika Khare, Mr.Gaurav Pundir, Vikas Kumar and Nupur Kataria. The aim of the activity was flourishing the students to attempt of creating a learning environment for the intellectual expansion. The objective, in fact, is to allow the Students to deliver into intricacies of the given fields of current importance and contributing to the development of wisdom and understanding on contemporary international issues. The competition also aims to provide an opportunity for these students to reveal their skills, raise alertness and the skills of debate and advocacy.
Dr. Vikash Jakhmola, Dean, UIPS motivated all the participants to explore their view, presentation skills and time management via this platform of debate competition. He also enforced to be aware about the global warming die to pharmaceutical industries, fuel industries and others. Eminent Judges for the today’s competition were Mrs.Alka Singh, Assistant Professor and Mr. Ashish Dimri, Assistant Professor.
Total thirty-six students actively participated in the debate competition with full enthusiasm and interest. Participants were screen out through the instant jam session i.e. the topic like Population explosion, Women empowerment, Banning of plastics, Reflect of lockdown in the human health, Social networking advantages and disadvantages, effect of modernization on life expectancy, Online education etc.
In first round out of twelve team only six team participants were screen out. In second round among the six team only two team were screened. In the final round six final participants were selected for the final Debate Competition Round. Mr.Vipul, Mr. Sarang Gill, Mr. Prit Raj, Mr.Saurav Nautiyal, Mr.Ashutosh Jha and Ms.Shivani Negi were the final participants.
And the name of the winning team is are Mr. Ashutosh, Ms.Shivani Negi and Saurav Nautiyal.
The event ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Amit Semwal, HOD, UIPS, he applauded the creativity and presentation of the students for the activity and congratulated the winners and the Event Coordinated by Mrs. Kiran Dobhal along with faculty member Dr Tarun Parashar, Mrs. Taru Saklani.
