Cultural Committee of School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University organized a Debate Competition on 18th October, 2018 on the topic, “Media Today- a boon or a curse!”
In his address Prof.(Dr.) Ajay Singh congratulated the Cultural Committee of SALS for organizing the competition and boosted the morale of the participants and advised them to speak from their heart.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Bharti Ramola, President – Cultural Committee (SALS) along with Dr. Poonam Negi, Dr. Indra Rautela, Mr. Shivam Pandey and Student Coordinator Nishchay Thakur. The programme was anchored by Shivangi Sharma.
Students from all the constituent departments of SALS participated in the event. They put forth their views on the topic in a skillful manner. Those who stood for the motion said that, nowadays, media was the prominent source of information. Some of the participants were of the opinion that Media is making the youth dependent on it and wasting their precious time.
The jury comprised of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Dr. Shuchi Upadhayay and Dr. Shalini Upadhayay.

Runner-up : Nishtha Chaudhary [B.Sc.(Hons.)Chemistry, 2nd Year]
