Committee for the Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Female Employees and Students (ICC) and Women Cell, Uttaranchal University organised a Seminar on “Rights of Women against Sexual Harassment at workplace” on 4 February 2022.
The keynote speaker for the session was Advocate Aruna Negi Chauhan, Senior Associate. She is an Alumni of Law College Dehradun, Uttaranchal University, and is now a well-known name in the arena of law and has solved several cases related to women and girl children. Advocate Aruna was given a warm welcome by Prof. Poonam Rawat, Chairperson of Women Cell, and Prof. Bharti Ramola, Chairperson ICC, Uttaranchal University by presenting a bouquet and a memento. The deliberations on “Rights of Women against Sexual Harassment at the workplace” was very informative and enlightening. Advocate Aruna Negi Chauhan also shared her experiences with everyone. She also gave befitting replies to queries raised by the audience members.
Prof Poonam Rawat Chairperson Women Cell proposed the Vote of Thanks. The event was anchored by Dr Reeta Rautela, Associate Professor, SLA, and member, ICC. Dr. Himani Maheshwari, Assistant Professor, UIM, Ms Arti Rana, Assistant Professor, UIT both member ICC and Women Cell Uttaranchal University along with Mr Shubham, Auditorium in-charge, Mr Kartikey Joshi, Mr Hemant Mehra, Mr Jitendra Negi, and Mr Pradeep Rana helped in managing the technical aspects of the session.
All the members of ICC and Women Cell along with all female staff members were present in the Seminar while more than 380 girl students joined the event virtually.
