The Library Club of Uttaranchal University celebrated World Book Day on 23April.. World Book Day observed on 23 April every year is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading. World Book Day has been introduced by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading. This event is celebrated in over 100 countries.
The university celebrated the event by lighting of the lamp and organizing a discourse on the significance of reading and the relevance of library for knowledge dissemination. At this occasion the Chancellor, Mr. Jitender Joshi felicitated some avid readers, who have made maximum use of reading material available in the university library. Among these are faculty members and students.
