Workshop on ‘‘Soft Skills: A Mandate in Developing Professionalism’

The School of Agriculture (SOA) organized a workshop on ‘‘Soft Skills: A Mandate in Developing Professionalism’ on 9th November 2022 for the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture. Dr Rachna Juyal, SOA was the key speaker and emphasized by saying that, “Unlike the ‘Hard Skills’ that define your technical skills, ‘Soft Skills’ are your human, personal and social skills, they directly refer to your emotional intelligence. It is both your “know-how-to-be” and your “savoir-vivre”, they represent your way of communicating with others and are much more important in the context of the professional world than you might think. Soft skills are personal attributes that influence how well you can work or interact with others. These skills forming relationships with people easier, create trust and dependability and lead the team. The lecture was a worthy session for students to understand the significance of soft skills in enhancing personality and developing professionalism. The questionnaire was kept to make the session more interactive and get students’ queries with the solutions.
