Women Cell of Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organized a Guest Lecture and a Plantation Drive on the occasion of ‘International Women’s Day’ on 8th March, 2021. The event is coordinated by Mrs. Pallavi Ghildiyal (Convenor) of Women Cell under the guidance of Dr. Vikash Jakhmola (Dean-UIPS).
The Guest Speaker of the day was Dr. Mainsha Walia (MBBS, MD) from PHC Center, Rudrapur. She delivered a Guest Lecture on “Breast Cancer”. The audience comprised of all the female faculty members and students. The session was quite interactive and informative to all. The speaker was awarded with token of appreciation in the presence of Hon,ble Chancellor and Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor.
The event included an address on ‘Women Power’ delivered by Mrs. Pallavi Ghildiyal. She informed that this year’s theme of ‘International Women’s Day’ is “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”. She stated that International Women’s Day is a celebration of all women around the globe and the achievements that have been accomplished. This day is about unity, celebration and connection of all the amazing women in the world.
On this auspicious occasion, a Plantation Drive was also organized with the contribution of faculty members and students.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dean – UIPS Dr. Vikash Jakhmola.
This initiative was well received, applauded and appreciated not only by the women associates but also by the students at large.
