Department of Hotel Management organized a Webinar on “Post Covid 19 – Teaching & Career Path for Hospitality Management” on 23rd June, 2020 on Zoom Platform hosted by Mr. Manish Badoni (HOD– Department of Hotel Management ) and attended by 70 participants.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor – Uttaranchal University, Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, inaugurated the Webinar.
In his Inaugural Speech Hon’ble Vice Chancellor stated that online classes, via Skype, Zoom and the like, are helpful for everyone and especially for the students of professional courses. It has duly served as a platform, which has enabled acquisition of learning despite the challenges, which arose due to COVID 19 leading to hampering of normal teaching-learning process. This is helping the teachers too as they get to communicate with their students and share knowledge. Due to regular online classes being conducted, the students are covering the course content in spite of being at home.
Mr. Manish Badoni introduced and welcomed the distinguished guests, namely, Ms. Kranti Pundir (Lecturer – IHM Dehra Dun), Mr. R.K. Sharma (Lecturer – IHM Lucknow), Mr Nishant Negi (GM – ITC Dwarka) and Mr. Jagdeep Khanna (Principal– IHM Dehra Dun).
The Expert Speakers shared their views and opinions on COVID 19 pandemic which has made a global impact and continues to hit most of the sectors, with education being one of the most affected. They also talked about new SOP’s to be adopted by hotels. Towards the conclusion, Mr. Manish Badoni conducted a live Q&A Round and presented the Vote of Thanks towards all the distinguished guests and the participants.
