Law College Dehradun, a Faculty of Uttaranchal University, organized a Mega Blood Donation Camp on 26th of November 2020, under the aegis of Legal Aid Centre with a special contribution from National Service Scheme (NSS) Uttaranchal University on the memorable occasion of ‘Constitution Day’ (National Law Day). Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi presided as the Chief Guest of the occasion along with, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Devendra Pathak. The event commenced with the felicitation of the Chief Guest by the Vice Chancellor followed by lighting of auspicious lamp in the Seminar Hall of the College. Faculty and Staff Members of the University participated in the event observing proper social distancing norms in the wake of pandemic while the students of the institution resorted to online participation.

Principal & Dean Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, in his Inaugural Address, extended his heartiest welcome to the Chief Guest, other dignitaries and all the faculty & staff members of the University. He commenced his speech with a pride stating that even amidst the pandemic situation when the entire country is battling the novel coronavirus, Law College Dehradun, faculty of Uttaranchal University continues its legacy of organizing Mega Blood Donation Camp to inculcate the feeling of supreme sacrifice for the nation in the students of university. It is one of the best practices adopted by the University since its inception in the year 2002. He expressed his gratitude to the patrons who supported in organizing the event and the volunteers who queued up for the noble cause. In continuance the Preamble of the Indian Constitution was recited by all the members in the hall.

Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Devendra Pathak, in his speech, quoted that it was a historic day at Uttaranchal University wherein Law College Dehradun takes the lead to organize the commendable practise of Blood Donation Camp, a distinguishing feature of the college. He also discussed the framing of Indian Constitution by legal luminaries, its unique features and the adoption of it by the country in a crux.

Hon’ble Chancellor, in his address, expressed his appreciation for the initiative taken to organize Blood Donation Camp by Law College Dehradun and the response of the volunteers who donated blood and commended Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna for his determination and service to society. Following this, the 12th Issue of ‘Dehradun Law Review’ was released by the Chief Guest along with the dignitaries.It is noteworthy that the ‘Dehradun Law Review’ is the only UGC-CARE listed Law Journal of Uttarakhand because of its standard and qualitative research compilations.The momentous picture of “Constituent Assembly of India 24th January 1950” was also unveiled by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi as a part of the celebration.

Mahant Indresh Hospital participated in the Mega Blood Donation Camp which was organized with adequate distancing and sanitization measures followed by the doctors, technicians and volunteers. Overwhelming enthusiasm was seen in the Faculty Members, Staff Members and N.S.S. Volunteers of the University.
