Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organizes a Two-Day Online National Seminar on “Recent Scenario of Clinical Trials in India”

The two-day Online National Seminar on the topic “Recent Scenario of Clinical Trials in India” was organized by Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Uttaranchal University on 23rd and 24th  April, 2021. The Seminar initiated with the opening remarks of Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Dean – UIPS he informed that clinical trials are systemic investigation in human beings for evaluating the safety and efficacy of new drugs before coming to the market, he also focused on the importance of clinical trials in present pandemic condition. 

On Day One, Dr. Vikas R. Chandrakar, MD and Founder of KV Clinical Research Services, India, addressed the participants and elaborated upon on-going clinical trials and their results on Corona virus vaccine in India. Mr. Ravikant, Head Clinical and Medical Affairs, Pharmazz India Pvt. Ltd., deliberated upon the challenges which need to be overcome for smooth conduction of clinical trials. 

On Day Two, Mr. Naveen Nautiyal, Team Leader, Cognizant Technology Solution, Hyderabad, imparted knowledge regarding data aggregation, management and reporting of adverse events and reactions. In the second half, Mr. Amit Pathak, Manager, Drug Safety, Convance, Pune, directed about career prospects for pharma students in the field of Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Research.

At the end Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Amit Semwal, HOD – UIPS. E-certificate was distributed to all the attendees by the Organizing Committee comprising of Dr. Tarun Parashar and Dr. Ankit Sharma. Total 410 participants got themselves registered for the seminar.
