Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and Method Validation’ for the students of Pharmacy on 7th April, 2018. Mr. Rakesh Prakash Srivastava, Production Manager, Biological E Limited, Dehradun was the Guest Speaker of the occasion. Mr. Srivastava has an industry experience of more than 12 years and is active as member of various professional societies & Industry Academia Cell of many Universities.
The Guest Lecture initiated with the felicitation of Mr. Rakesh Prakash Srivastava by Dr. Deepak Nanda, Director – UIPS. Ms. Shristi (student of B. Pharm.) introduced the Speaker and the topic of the lecture to the students.
In his lecture Mr. Srivastava discussed about GMP and cGMP in the Pharmaceutical Industries. He explained that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) form a part of quality assurance which ensures that the products are consistently produced and controlled according to the quality standards appropriate to their intended use and as required by the marketing authorization. He also explained validation, as a part of GMP, that ensures that facility systems, equipments, processes, and tests procedures are in control and therefore consistently produce quality products. He introduced the participants to many exclusive examples and challenges in the Pharmaceutical Industry. He shared his own experiences regarding the working culture of the industry. He also enlisted many tips to succeed in interviews.
The Guest Lecture proved to be highly informative. The Lecture concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. Soniya, Faculty-UIPS. All the faculty members were present on the occasion.
