“Nirmaan” (Society of Civil Engineering Department) organized a University Level event entitled “Mind Fizz – 2018″ on 6th and 7th April, 2018. 140 students from the constituent colleges of Uttaranchal University participated in the event. The event was inaugurated on 6th April by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N. K. Joshi and Director-UIT Dr. Badhai Lonia in the presence of the Heads of the Departments.
The event comprised of 3 rounds. The First Round was the Write-up Round which required answering 30 Multiple Choice Questions in 30 minutes. The First Round short-listed 30 students out of the total participants. The Second Round was the “Rapid Fire” Round. This was a team event. There was negative marking for wrong answers. At a time 6 teams participated in the Rapid Fire Round out of which three teams were selected. At the end of the Second Round the event had 12 Finalists. In the Final Round the 12 Finalists performed individually. This round again comprised of the Write-up Round including Multiple Choice Questions. There was negative marking for wrong answers.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized on 7th April wherein the prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners and participants by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi, Director-Student Affairs and IT Services Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Head-Department of Civil Engineering Mr. Amit Bahuguna and Event Coordinator Mr. Awadhesh Chandramauli.
The Organizing Team of the event included Ms. Monica Pandey, Mr. Shubham Pundir, Ms. Vinita Kaintura, Mr. Saurav Aind, Ms. Jyoti, Mr. Priyank Godiyal, Mr. Rakibul Alam from III Year and Mr. Maynak Pandey, Mr. Maynak Nautiyal, Mr. Saurav Singh from II Year.
