Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrates World Pharmacist Day

Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Uttaranchal University celebrated World Pharmacist Day on 25 September 2022. The Theme of this year was “Pharmacy United in action for a Healthier World” which aims to promote unity and highlight the sound effects of pharmacy on health.

Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences conducted a rally based on a Theme-Pharmacy United in action for a Healthier World to create awareness among the society regarding health concerns. The pharmacist Oath was conducted by the faculty and students. The pledge serves as an ethical compass for pharmacists over the course of their careers, helping them navigate professional quandaries such as patient support and care. The Rally was flagged off by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitendra Joshi, Vice-President, Dr Satbir Singh Sehgal, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna. Dean UIPS, Dr Vikash Jakhmola, addressed the students stating the prominence of World Pharmacist Day as it is marked every year on September 25, to draw attention to the crucial role played by pharmacists and the excellent health services provider. Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna motivated the students by expressing the importance of the role and responsibilities of being a pharmacist. Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitendra Joshi congratulated the students and faculty members for celebrating World Pharmacist Day.

The Rally was conducted by the faculty and students with slogans and holding in support of the Pharmacist. A skit depicting the importance of Pharmacists and their role was played by the team of students which was appreciated by all. A team of students with faculty, Dr Ankit Sharma and Mrs Pallavi Ghildiyal conducted an awareness camp in Pt. Sureshanand Joshi Shishu Mandir Inter College, Selaqui. The team interacted with the students and told them about the common disease prevailing nowadays. The cause, prevention and treatment of Malaria, Hand Foot Mouth Disease (HFMD), and Dengue were explained to the children. The function was concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Amit Semwal, HoD.
