Uttaranchal Institute of Management organized ‘FESTLA-2018’ & ‘Alumni Meet’ on 26th October, 2018 in the campus of UIM.
Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi was the Chief Guest of the event. Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Director-UIM) welcomed & felicitated him with a bouquet of beautiful flowers. He also presented a bouquet of flowers to Smt. Anuradha Joshi (Vice Chairperson) the Guest of Honour of the event.
The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi , Smt. Anuradha Joshi (Vice Chairperson), Dr. Abhishek Joshi (Director SA & IT Services), Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna (Principal-LCD) & Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Director-UIM) by lighting the lamp and invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
Dr. Ajai Singh (Registrar), Mr. K.B. Pokhriyal (Controller of Examination) and Mr. Manish Badoni (Principal-SHM) were also present on the occasion.
Tithi Daas from BBA (Final Year) performed Ganesh Vandana. There was Group Dance performance on Bollywood Freestyle Theme by Shrishti & Group from MBA and Punjabi Folk Dance by Aakriti Lakhera & Himani Joshi from BCA (I Year).
Dr. Abhishek Joshi (Director – Student Affairs and IT Services) addressed the august gathering and delivered words filled with enthusiasm and encouragement for the participants. He said that such events extract the hidden talent and potential of the student which class room learning cannot tap. He wished them Best of Luck for their respective events.
Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri introduced the day’s events in detail and also revealed the proposed activities scheduled in the Academic Calendar of UIM. He mentioned that such events facilitate the development of various domains of mind & personality such as intellectual , emotional, social, moral & aesthetic.
UIM also hosted the ‘Alumni Meet’ for its alumni on this day. More than 50 alumni working in MNC’s and other companies participated in the meet. They were also given the privilege to judge the events being organized under ‘FESTLA-2K18’. They shared their corporate experiences with the students of UIM and also expressed their heart tickling feeling of coming to their alma mater.
‘FESTLA-2K18’ hosted competitive events of various clubs, namely, Marketing Club- Product Innovation, HR Club- Case Study Competition, Finance Club- Money Quiz, Sports Club-Chess, Carrom, Football & Table Tennis, Globe Club- Poster Making Competition, Codex Club-Face Painting, Web Designing Club- Website Designing & Women Club- Rangoli. The students from Management and Computer Applications Department participated in all the events with full enthusiasm and passion.
There was another very important event of Painting Exhibition organised by UIM for its International Star Painter Ms. Shreya Grover from B.Com. I Year. Her paintings were highly appreciated by the dignitaries.
Another attraction of ‘FESTLA-2K18’ was the stalls. The students exhibited their selling skills through various stalls put up by them for the day. The Stall Section remained the centre of attraction for all. There were various stalls like Food and Snacks Stalls, Gaming Stalls and the utmost one the DJ Stall.
The event Co-ordinator was Dr. Sonal Sharma (Head of the Department-IT, UIM) & Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat (Incharge – Academic & Cultural Events, UIM).
Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi congratulated Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri and his entire team for successfullyorganizing such an event.
The day concluded with the Valedictory Ceremony which was graced by the presence of Vice Chairperson Smt. Anuradha Joshi & Director – Student Affairs and IT Services Dr. Abhishek Joshi.
The winners of all the events were awarded with Trophies and Certificates.
Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri proposed the Vote of Thanks to all the distinguished guests. He conveyed his gratitude towards all his Faculty Members and Technical & Non-Technical Staff for preparing, organising and supporting the event.
