Uttaranchal Institute of Management organizes Anti-Plastic Campaign

The Globe Club (Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment Club) of Uttaranchal Institute Of Management, under the aegis of Uttaranchal University, organized an awareness campaign, viz., “Anti-Plastic Campaign” and conducted walk from the Uttaranchal University to Premnagar, Dehradun on 18th May, 2016 under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Pardeep Suri (Director-UIM).

Dr. Sonal Sharma (HOD – IT) and Dr. Devkant Kala (HOD – Management) graced the occasion by their presence. The activity was supervised by Mr. Manish Gurung (Head – Globe Club), along with the members of Globe Club.

The objective of the event was to join hands and create awareness about the hazards of using plastic among the society which will help to save mother earth.Plastic harms the environment in numerous ways. Once they enter into soil, they lower its fertility and affect our farmer’s production. Besides, when these plastic materials are used up, they litter the streets and block drains and when burned, they release toxic chemicals and contaminate the air. Hence, with the aim of raising awareness against the use of polythene bags, Globe Club of UIM Dehradun conducted a campaign named Anti plastic Campaign to spread awareness among the society.

Mr. Manish Gurung conducted this campaign through the trained students of various courses of UIM. Around 150 students participated in the campaign walk. Such activities strengthen the emotional and mental health of the students and ignite the feelings of compassion towards the welfare and development of the society. We should save our Environment and ensure a healthy life.
