Uttaranchal Institute of Management organized a Workshop on ‘Vigilance Awareness against Corruption’ on 31st October, 2018 in observance of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week – 2018’ (October 29, 2018 to November 3, 2018).The Workshop was organized to create awareness against the ill effects of corruption and was conceptualized and executed by Ms. Madhu Arora & Dr. Babita Rawat (Event Coordinators). Around 100 students from various courses of UIM attended the Workshop.
Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Director-UIM) and Dr. Sonal Sharma (HOD-IT) inaugurated the Workshop.
Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri in his opening session voiced that eradication of corruption can be achieved by individual’s strong willpower and stern stand against corruption,since the cancer of corruption is violating the social fabric and harming the economic foundation of the country. Therefore it has become very imperative to liquidate this menace from the country and spread awareness about its ills. He gave many eye opening examples of people who fought against corruption.
Further the students (Anshul sharma, Vikas Shrivastav, Sanyokta Chhibber, Aditya Rana, Mohit Negi, Vipul Negi, Taruna, Ujjawal, Isha from MBA 1st Yr.) presented their views by first describing about the corruption and its various forms. In their presentationS they also put forward their ideas and strategies to eradicate corruption.
They shared that the ways to curb corruption can be through awareness campaigns using media, social networking, road shows, enhancing literacy level, protests and assertions against corruption.
The audience took a pledge against corruption and affirmed that Reduction of corruption = (Transparency+ Morality)- ( Monopoly+ Discretion).
Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat, Mr. Shailesh Chamola, Mr. Farman Ali, Ms. Pankhuri Sinha & Ms. Sultana Parveen were present in the Workshop.
The technical support rendered by Mr. Anand Rawat (Lab Technician) made the workshop effective and successful.
