In continuation with its resolution to educate young students, GLOBE Club of ‘Uttaranchal Institute of Management’ conducted the next three phases of the ‘ShikshaDaan’ Activity on 5th October, 19th October and 25th October, 2019 respectively in ‘Akhil Bhartiya Mahila Ashram’ and ‘Government Girls Inter College’ (GGIC) Lakhhibagh, Dehradun.
The activity was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Director, UIM) and was executed with the coordinated efforts of GLOBE Club Members, namely, Mr. Rohit Dhiman, Mr. Mayank Pant, Dr. Sangeeta Sundriyal, Ms. Anu Suyal, Dr. Deepa Bisht and Dr. Monisha Awasthi with the support of Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat (In charge – Cultural and Academic Events).
It was conducted in collaboration with a Dehradun-based NGO ‘Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti’ with the support of Shri. Vinayak Sharma (President, Jai Youth Wing of the Society), his team-members and the Principals of the schools.
On 5th October 2019 the student volunteers of UIM interacted with the school students and gave them information about some contemporary dance steps, followed by ‘Poster-Making Classroom Session’ based on their own views on different topics. This activity aimed to give a platform to these young kids to showcase their talent and thus increase their confidence level.
On19th October 2019 the student volunteers of UIM interacted with the school students of GGIC, Dehradun and educated them via a‘DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Session’ based on festive theme of ‘Diwali’. The students learned to make hand-painted diyas by decorating them with colors and other decorative items.
The third and final phase of the activity was conducted on 25th October 2019,where
the volunteer students of UIM interacted with the students of ‘Akhil Bhartiya Mahila Ashram’and organized a DIY Session on ‘Making colorful paper lanterns’.
