With the aim to motivate the students to participate in sports activities leading to overall development and to provide a platform to the students to showcase their talent, Sports Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management organized a Cricket Tournament entitled ‘UIM Cup 2017-18’. Sports activities help in inculcating leadership skills, tolerance, and team sprit among the students.
The event commenced on 16th February, 2018 with 10 teams including students from all the courses. It was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, Uttaranchal Institute of Management. The Final Match was played on 28th February, 2018 between the teams comprising students of BBA-II Year and BBA-I Year.
Mr. Rakesh Semwal (Sports In charge – UIM) and Mr. Sarkar Saxena were the Umpires and the commentary was delivered by Mr. A.K.S. Chauhan, Mr. V.K. Tangri and Mr. Shailesh Chamola.

All the winners and Runners-up were felicitated by Hon’ble Chancellor, Shri Jitender Joshi and Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri. Hon’ble Chancellor, Shri Jitender Joshi, in his Valedictory Speech highly motivated and encouraged the students to actively participate in all productive activities in their life.
The event was attended by Dr. S M Mariam Fatima (Head-Department of Management), Dr. Sonal Sharma (Head-Department of Computer Application), Mr. Nitin Duklan (Sports In charge – Uttaranchal University), Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat (Cultural & Academic In charge – UIM), Mr. Deepak Pant, Ms. Usha Patel, Ms. Shailee Parmar and Ms. Sultana Praveen along with other faculty members and students.
