Uttaranchal Collge of Nursing organises a one week FDP

Faculty Development Program is conducted to enhance the professional education and competence of the faculty member. Enriching the faculty vitality in key domains of teaching, assessing, research, professionalism, and administration is perceived to improve the educational environment significantly and enhance the academic performance of learners.

Uttaranchal College of Nursing organized a 1-week faculty development program from 17 May 2022 to 23 May 2022, 10:30 am to 03:30 pm through virtual mode around 45 to 48 participants attended the program.

On the very first day, the event started at 11:00 am with a welcome address by Dr Babu D, Principal, Uttaranchal College of Nursing and Dr Babu highlighted the objectives of FDP and the various topics and their guest speakers. Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor greeted all the participants and highlighted the importance of modern and traditional methods of teaching.

The Guest Speaker of day one was Dr Bincy P Tiwari, Nursing Superintendent, Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital. The topic was Personality Development. She emphasized that nursing is the backbone of health care, and the personality of a nurse should be confident enough to handle the day-to-day activity of the hospital.

The Guest Speaker of day two was Dr Tamilselvi A, Principal, Amity College of Nursing, Amity University, Haryana. She highlighted social etiquette in the behavior of a professional nurse.

The Guest Speaker of day three was Dr R Babu, Principal, DIT College of Nursing, DIT University, Dehradun, who emphasized the significance of professional values, beliefs, attitudes, and code of ethics in nursing. The Guest Speaker of day four was Dr Ankit Sharma, Faculty, UIPS, Uttaranchal University dealt on the Fundamentals of prescribing and highlighted on types and methods of prescription, types of order, and abbreviations that can cause confusion, and rules of prescribing drugs.

The Guest Speaker of day five was Dr Nishesh Sharma, Faculty, SALS, Uttaranchal University. The topic was Bioethics in health care, he highlighted that bioethics is a combination of biology and bioscience with humanistic knowledge. He also explained the principles of bioethics, and crucial aspects of bioethics.

The Guest Speaker for the last day session was Dr Radhe Shyam Jha, Faculty, LCD, Uttaranchal University, who highlighted the health science and legal issues in health science which include fundamental rights of health, clinical trials, Surrogacy and ART, Medical Termination of pregnancy, euthanasia, medical negligence, and others. At the end of the FDP, Ms Deepali Rawali proposed a vote of thanks to the management, speakers, and all the participants.
