A one-day Workshop on “Volumetric Analysis” was organized by Department of Chemistry, UCALS, Uttaranchal University on 27th October, 2018. The Keynote Speakers were Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal-UCALS and Dr. Naveen Kumar, Assistant Professor-Department of Chemistry, UCALS.
The programme was initiated by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh who told about the importance of volumetric analysis in research and development. He also explained the basic principles of volumetric analysis.
Dr. Naveen Kumar discussed the methods of preparing standard solutions of different concentrations as required for volumetric analysis. The preparation of solution forms the basis of any lab-based industry and therefore has great importance in the field of Chemistry. It is also important for students and research scholars.
Dr. Shalini Upadhayay, Ms. Shivangi Omer, Mr. Shivam Pandey along with students of M.Sc. (Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry and Food Technology), B.Sc. (Chemistry, Food Technology and Biotechnology) were present during the session. The students expressed their interest and curiosity by asking questions. The session was very interesting and interactive. The Workshop, as a whole, proved to be very informative and successful.
