“Nirmaan” (Society of Civil Engineering Department) organized “War of Words-2K18” at University Level on 26th & 27th October, 2018. 81 students from all the constituent colleges of Uttaranchal University participated in the event. The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N. K. Joshi & Head – Department of Civil Engineering Mr. Amit Bahuguna.
There were 3 rounds in the event. First round was “Essay Writing” wherein the students had to write a 500 words essay on the topic given by members of society of Civil Department and the time duration allotted was 45 minutes. 30 students were shortlisted for the 2nd Round.
The 2nd Round was conducted on 27th October, 2018. It was the “Debate” round. 10 teams participated in this round. 11 students were selected for the 3rd Round..
Third Round was the solo performance based “Just a Minute”. Participants were given a topic on the spot and had to speak on it for one minute. The results for top 4 positions were announced by our judges Mr. Awadhesh Chandramauli, Mr. Ajay Tewari, Mr. Ankit Negi, and Mr. Himanshu Chaudhary. 1st Position was secured by Shekhar Mani (M.Sc. 1st Year), 2nd Position by Shashank Pant (from LCD, 3rd year), 3rd position by Kashish Aggrawal (B.Sc.2nd Year), 4th Position by Pragya (Biotechnology 2nd Year) & 5th position position was achieved by Vishesh Kumar Dubey [B. Tech. (CSE)].
The day concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony. Prizes and Certificates were distributed to the Winners, Participants and Organizing Committee Members by our respected Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N. K. Joshi, Head – Department of Civil Engineering Mr. Amit Bahuguna and Mr. Awadhesh Chandramauli (Event Coordinator).
