The Students of Department of Chemistry, School of Applied and Life Sciences visited IIT Roorkee on 13th February 2019. The students of M. Sc. Final Vear (Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry) went to visit the Instrumentation Laboratory of the Department of Chemistry of IIT Roorkee. They were shown all the analytical instruments like – FT-IR, GC-MS, Advanced UV-Vis, NMR, AAS, etc. Sample making and sample characterisations for FT-IR, NMR and GC-MS was demonstrated by Technical Officers of the department. The students also visited the Instrumentation Centre where the procedures for making samples and scanning of sample particles, under vacuum were demonstrated by the technical officers of Institute Instrumentation Centre IIT-Roorkee. Thus the students got the opportunity to have firsthand experience to visualize the necessary requirements for the sample analysis in the IIT-Roorkee. The students were extremely delighted with the knowledge enhancing visit to the premier institute of India. The Visit was organised by Dr. N.C Joshi under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal-SALS.
