Department of Biotechnology, School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Entrepreneurship Development’ on 26th February, 2019 pertaining to prevailing opportunity of entrepreneurship development in the field of Biotechnology and Allied Sciences. Mr. Divy Prakash Pandey [Deputy Director, DNA Labs- A Center for Applied Science (DLCAS), Dehradun] was the Guest Speaker of the event. The programme began by the welcome of the Invited Speaker with a bouquet as a token of appreciation. Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh (Principal, SALS & Dean-Research & Studies) in his Welcome Address emphasized on how planning and executing small start-ups can prove to be an extremely successful career opportunity which can further be scaled up and executed at commercial level.
Mr. D. P. Pandey in his talk elaborated on prevailing opportunities of entrepreneurship and start-ups in the field of Biotechnology and Allied Sciences. He stated that innovation and exploration in the field of Applied Sciences through multilateral ways forms the backbone of any start-up in the field of science. The lecture was followed by an Interactive Session during which students raised their queries pertaining to possible future prospects with regards to start-ups. The session also addressed various challenges in establishing a successful start-up.
The programme was executed under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh (Principal, SALS and Dean – Research & Studies, Uttaranchal University). The programme was co-ordinated by Dr. Nishesh Sharma (Head –Department of Biotechnology), Dr. Indra Rautela, Dr. Rohit Singh, Dr. Vivekanand Bhauguna, Dr. Archna Dhasmana and Mr. Saurabh Pant. The lecture proved to be extremely beneficial and informative as it provided valuable guidance to students to pursue an independent self placed career.
