600 students of School of Agriculture conducted “Social Awareness Movement” against the use of Plastic/Polythene in Dehradun on 27th April, 2018. The students marched in the campus under the guidance of Principal-SOA, Dr. J.P.Mishra and all the Faculty Members of SOA. The movement started from SOA, covered all the constituent colleges of Uttaranchal University and finally reached the Administrative Building where Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K.Joshi and all the Faculty Members and students took the oath: “ I will never use Plastic in my life as far as possible”. ‘Plastic Free Dehradun’, ‘Plastic Free India’, ‘I am life’, ‘I am beginning I am end’, ‘Save Me’, ‘I am Source of Life’ were some of the slogans which resonated in the air.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor addressed the students and said that the students should work towards saving the earth, saving the life of human being and miniature living entities. He advised the students to take initiative to make earth plastic-free. The Awareness Movement was organized under the guidance of the Principal-School of Agriculture, Dr. J.P.Mishra and all the Faculty Members.
