Two Weeks Workshop on MS Office and Data Presentation organized by Dept. of Mathematics, Uttaranchal College of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, on 28 November-11 December 2016.

was the Resource Person. Apart from the faculty members of Uttaranchal College of applied and Life Sciences, more than 75 members from various Universities and Colleges participated in the event.
Mr. Atma Nand was the Master of Ceremony. On the outset, he invited Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh (Principal, UCALS) to felicitate Hon’ble Chancellor Sh. Jitendra Joshi and Hon’bleVice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S. C. Joshi. Thereafter, Dr. Srivastava felicitated all the Resource Persons. The programme commenced with the lighting of the auspicious lamp followed by the recitalof University Kulgeet.
In his address, Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Joshi welcomed all the participants and emphasized upon the need of such programmes for the over-all growth of faculty members and the participants. He further stated that ‘Data Analysis’ and ‘Data Interpretations’ are the present-day world’s buzz words, wherein, technology is changing at a rapid pace.
This workshop specifically focused to use MS word like a pro- it teaches participant how to formatting text, insert video, assign themes, create table, generate index, create Bibliography, reviewing documents, and so on. The training on MS Excel helps participants use spreadsheets effectively. The participants will know how to use cell data, format data, create worksheets, analyse data, apply and create formulae for calculation.
In the inaugural function, Dr. V. K. Srivastava, HOD Mathematics, UCALS, welcomed all the participants and explained the importance of MS office and data presentation.
Dr. ShankarLal, Assistant Professor(HBNGU Campus, Tehri Garhwal), explained why MS office and Data presentation is important in science &engineering, medical science, data science, statistics and all other science related developments.
Dr. U.S. Rana, Associate Professor(DAV PG College, Dehradun), delivered the key-note address. He said teaching effective mathematics to University students is challenging. He narrated several anecdotes to explain method of using MS office and data presentation in science and engineering and how it is important in conducting experiments of mathematics and data analysis work.
Dr. T. S. Chauhan, Associate Professor(Bareilly College Bareilly), talked about works of various tools and techniques of MS office in the field of science and engineering. In the field of graphical representation of mathematical data, analysis of mathematics data and its representation such as various graph of calculus, geometry shapes and figures, and importance of work through it in present-day mathematics.
Dr. P. K. Sharma, Associate Professor, (DAV PG College, Dehradun), talked about the various tools and techniques such as statistical analysis of data through SPSS, Mathematica and MATLAB. He discussed further how this software could help the students and researcher to ease their work more effectively and efficiently.
Dr. Srivastava concluded his address by proposing a Vote of Thanks towards one and all present.
