A two-day National Conference on ‘Recent Advances in Science & Technology’ was organized in Uttaranchal University, Dehradun from 27th to 28th February, 2017, on the occasion of “National Science Day” by Uttaranchal College of Applied and Life Sciences (UCALS). The conference was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S.C.Joshi, Director SA & IT, Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Director HR, Ms Ankita Joshi, Chief Guest Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, Director General-UCOST, Uttarakhand, Guest of Honour Prof. (Dr.) Yuvraj Singh Negi, Head & In-charge IPT, Saharanpur, Special Guest Prof. Dhavandra Kumar, Institute of Medical Sciences Caradiff, United Kingdom and Conference convenor Dr. Ajay Singh.
Welcoming the guests Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Joshi shared the mission of Uttaranchal University in the field of science & Technology. Addressing the gathering Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal, UCALS shared with the audience on the entire schedule of the conference while also informing them on the facilities available on the campus.
Chief Guest Dr. Rajendra Dobhal Director General-UCOST, Uttarakhand delivered the Inaugural Address and encouraged the participants to ensure positive outcomes from this conference and opined that development in the field of S& T and research.
Addressing the gathering the Guest of Honour Prof. (Dr.) Yuvraj Singh Negi, Head & In-charge IPT, Saharanpur, delivered the lecture on Biodegradable polymer. Prof. Dhavandra Kumar, Institute of Medical Sciences Cardiff, United Kingdom delivered the lecture on Genome.
The experts who shared their wisdom on various aspects of S&T in this conference included Prof. M.S.M. Rawat Ex Vice Chancellor, HNBGU, Dr. Vinit Mehrotra, SRHU, Dr. Versa Percha, Head, Applied Chemistry, SBS (PG) College Dehradun, Dr. Prashant Singh, DAV (PG) College Dehradun. The event saw participation of scientists, research scholars and students from various universities, IIT, NIT, AMU, Gorakhpur University, GKV, Lucknow University, HNBGU, UTU, SRHU, GEU etc. Principal Law College Dehradun Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna, Dean Engineering Prof. N.K. Joshi, Dr. V.K. Shrivastav, Dr. B.S. Rawat, Dr. Vinod Kumar and Dr. S.K. Shah were present in the event. A souvenir on the conference was released by the guests on the dais.
