“The Ordinary Hero’s at Taj” on November 26, 2019

Department of Hotel Management remembered the unsung Heroes of Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai 26/11 Attack on 26th November, 2019.

The students and Faculty Members remembered people who lost their lives in Mumbai 26/11 attack. Mr. Shashi Kant shared stories of some staff members. He told about the young 24-year-old Banquet Manager MallikaJagad who saved her 35 guests attending a party hosted by Hindustan Unilever; Mr. ThomosVerghese, a Senior Waiter, who saved 50 guests but couldn’t save himself; Mr. Karambir Singh Kang, GM, he coordinated between fire fighters, police, commandos and guests knowing that his wife and children were already killed in the attack, to mention a few.

Mr. Surendra Singh Bhakuni motivated the students to develop the attitude which was visible in the Staff Members of ‘The Taj’ at that crucial juncture.

Mr. Manish Badoni, HOD, DEPARTMENT OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT, informed the students how Taj Mahal Palace became one among the top 20 Hotels after this massive attack.

He also guided the students on what to do to emulate the high level of service, both in times of crisis and in periods of normalcy.
