An interactive session was organized for the girl students of SLA, Uttaranchal University to bring awareness about the functioning of the Women Cell on 1 October 2021 at Communication Lab, Room No. 103, Computer Centre. All the members of Women Cell, SLA were also present. Dr Pinki Chugh, Member Secretary, Women Cell read the SOPs. Members of the cell were also formally introduced. After the introductory session, Jasmine Khabisow from BA II year showed a visual on girls’ safety tricks. She said that today’s girls need to be smarter to evade the issues of eve-teasing and harassment. Her speech was followed by Karan Panchal, a student of BA(H) Psychology. He spoke about the Defenders’ Club, which is founded by him to train girls against physical assaults. He advised the audience to join his club. Jagriti Kumari, a student of BA(H) English & student member of the cell discussed her NGO and how it’s helping the deprived women. Students’ queries about the process of complaint filing and working of the cell were addressed at the end of the session.
The session ended with a pledge initiated by the coordinator. The event was coordinated by Dr Pinki Chugh. Dr Reeta Rautela, Chairperson Women Cell extended her warm wishes on the successful organization of the event.
