Mantrana Debating Society of D.A.V. (PG) College, in collaboration with Valley of Words (a Literature and Arts Festival organized by The Shivalik Hills Foundation Trust) organized an International Debate Competition on the topic: “English is an Indian language” on 13th November 2019.
Uttaranchal University was represented by the following two Teams:
Hindi:
For: Sumit Bhatt [B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry, III Semester, SALS]
Against: Shekhar Malik [M.Sc. Chemistry, III Semester, SALS]
English:
For: Anushka Joshi [B.A.LL.B. V Semester, LCD]
Against: Anupriya Poddar [BBA.LL.B. III Semester, LCD]
The event witnessed a tough competition wherein 100 participants from all over India competed to bag titles. Shekhar Malik won the Third Position for speaking against the topic in Hindi.
