School of Applied and Life Sciences organizes “Mann Ki Baat”

A Mann Ki Baat Session was conducted on 10th April, 2021 in School of Applied and Life Sciences.  The students of B.Sc. and M.Sc. of all the five departments (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Food Technology and Biotechnology) of School of Applied and Life Sciences participated in the event. The session was chaired by Dr. Ajay Singh, Dean-School of Applied and Life Sciences and attended by Heads of the Departments namely Dr. V.K. Srivastava, Dr. B.S.Rawat, Dr. Poonam Negi, Dr. Nishesh Sharma and Dr. Sukriti Singh.  Dr. Bharti Ramola, Head – Cultural & Events, Uttaranchal University along with other faculty members of SALS were also present. This session aimed to know the thoughts and feelings of students during the current Covid scenario. The students penned down their thoughts.

A discussion was also held with students regarding the conduct of online/offline classes due to upsurge in the covid-19 cases. Students were instructed to take mandatory actions for prevention and protection from Covid. Feedback for the betterment of the departments was also included in this session. Some common points given by students are listed below:

2. Sanitization of classes was suggested by most of the students.
3. At entry of the department, foot sanitizers should be provided 
4. Temperature should be checked at the entry point 
5. Exams should also be conducted online
6. Students doing project work should be allowed entry in the university for completion of their project work
7. Saturday should be off (5 days teaching and one activity day recommended)
8. One day in a week should be allowed for casuals/ Sports T-shirt for the students.
