School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS) celebrated National Science Day on 28th February, 2020. The event was inaugurated by the lighting of the lamp by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh (Principal-SALS), Prof. (Dr.) V.K. Shrivastava (Head – Department of Mathematics), Dr. B.S Rawat (Head – Department of Physics), Dr. Nishesh Sharma (Head – Department of Biotechnology), Dr. Suchi Upadhyay (Head – Department of Food Technology), Dr. Bharti Ramola (Head, Cultural Committee-Uttaranchal University) and Dr. Poonam Negi. Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh in his Welcome Speech addressed the students and the participants and briefed about the objective behind the celebration of National Science Day along with the present year’s theme “Women in Science”. He also encouraged the students to actively participate in such activities. Several activities including Scientific Research Paper Writing, Poster Presentation and Seminar Presentation were conducted on this occasion. Students from various departments participated with full enthusiasm.

On the occasion of Science Day ‘The Eco Club’ of Uttaranchal University organized Fun Games for the members of the club. Three-legged race was organized. The winners were:

A Presentation Session on the topic ‘Global Warming’ was also organized.
The entire building of SALS was abuzz with varied activities conducted on the occasion of Science Day.
