NSS Unit of Uttaranchal University celebrates Vasant Panchami by organizing ‘Poster Making Competition’ & ‘Slogan Writing Competition’

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in the centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi, 1969. Aimed at developing students’ personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in colleges, universities working for a campus-community linkage.

NSS unit, Uttaranchal University, has always stayed focused on inculcating the Indian human and cultural values into the students and amalgamating them with the modern education to create professionals with holistic learning that have an overall balanced personality.

Keeping up with its legacy the NSS team of Uttaranchal University celebrated the festival of Vasant Panchami that marks the arrival of season of spring and expressing our gratitude towards the Mother Nature through organizing a Poster Making Competition and Slogan Writing Competition for the students from Second Year of all disciplines on January 30, 2020.

Many students enthusiastically participated in this event to give a message of conservation of our natural environment and its rich resources through their vibrant and colorful paintings and slogans that were displayed for viewing by all in the lobby area of the University.

The inspiring and electrifying slogans of all the participants were appreciated by the judges and the students. In the brief conclusion ceremony, Dr. V. K. Srivastava highly applauded the efforts of all the winners and also of other participants and encouraged the students and the staff members to continue with their commendable work in the future too.
