Glimpses : Day 2
The second day of the seven day Special Camp organized by the NSS unit of Uttaranchal University was initiated by the volunteers with Surya Namaskar followed by Prayer Service and Exercise Session. Under the leadership of the Camp Executive Officer Dr. V.K. Shrivastav the volunteers cleaned the premises & the surroundings of the Camp Site, namely, Panchayat Bhawan Baniya Wala and watered the plants & trees. The volunteers also worked towards the drainage of dirty water in the surrounding area.
During the Interaction Session the volunteers discussed waste management and cleanliness issues. Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma and Mr. Shailendra (Ward Member) were present during the session.
In the evening, the villagers were informed regarding garbage management and cleanliness. The villagers were told how to dispose separately dry and wet wastes to ensure maintenance of cleanliness.
The day concluded with a cultural program which was organized by the volunteers.
