The NSS Wing of Uttaranchal University organized “Clean India Campaign” on the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. This event was conceptualized by NSS Members of the Uttaranchal Institute of Technology.
The main purpose of the program was to spread awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits. All the students along with the teaching faculty participated in this event. This event was led by Dr. V.K. Srivastava (NSS Coordinator- Uttaranchal University) and Mr. Arvind Singh Rawat (NSS Coordinator- UIT). Faculty Members, namely, Mr. Himanshu Goel, Mr. Manoj and Mr. Sudhir Jugran along with Student Members of NSS (UIT) and other students participated in the event.
Uttaranchal University shares the intent of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, to quote, “cleaning up the country is not the sole responsibility of few but is the duty of everyone to make the country clean”.
The campaign started with the cleaning of the college premises from UIT towards the college ground. Students of all the branches actively participated in this event. Along with “Clean India” Campaign “Fit India” Campaign was also conducted wherein a race from College Ground to Department of Mechanical Engineering was organized. This was an inspiring and unique experience for everyone.
