NSS Wing of Uttaranchal University conducted ‘Cleanliness Drive’ under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan Programme, under the guidance of Dr. V. K. Srivastava, NSS Coordinator – Uttaranchal University, on 27th September 2019. This event was conceptualized by NSS Members of School of Agriculture. The main purpose of this programme was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits. All the students along with the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff participated in the event. As a part of this Cleanliness Drive the premises of Uttaranchal University was cleaned. The sweepers of the college were the observers.
Prof. (Dr.) J. P. Mishra (Principal-SOA) started the programme by cleaning the corners of the Agriculture Block. Then the teachers and students followed suit. Some picked brooms while some did the dusting of the rooms. Some students went to the open ground and picked the garbage lying there. After collecting them they threw them in the dustbins. The drive concluded with a speech delivered by Prof. (Dr.) J. P. Mishra wherein he told about the importance of sanitation. He also acknowledged the sweepers of the college for their noble job. In the end, everyone took the oath of keeping their homes, localities and city clean. It was a unique experience for one and all.
