Media Club of Department of communication organized a Group Discussion on 25th January, 2019, on the topic “Not only “Rights” but “Duties” too”. The event was conducted on the eve of 70th Republic Day of India wherein students gave their opinions about the current situation of Fundamental Duties and Rights.
In the program the students highlighted the fact that in the present scenario the citizens of the country are actively demanding their rights but are nearly silent regarding their fundamental duties. Our Constitution has outlined fundamental duties which every responsible citizen should follow. The students presented examples and case studies concluding how people are neglecting their fundamental duties. Students narrated the history of Indian Constitution and listed the fundamental articles and duties, they connected them by showing that people are asking for their rights but are not able to perform their duties. They finally concluded the discussion by saying that in order to create a good atmosphere in the country the citizens must fulfill their fundamental duties first and then demand their rights.
The entire program was conducted by Department of Communication ‘Media Club’ and was shot and edited by ‘Photography Club’ of Department of Communication.
